GED Prep & Testing
At the Nassau County Juvenile Detention Center, Leadership Training Institute (LTI) provides a structured GED Preparation & Testing program designed to offer older and long-term remanded youth a meaningful pathway toward educational achievement. As a Pearson VUE authorized testing center, LTI ensures that eligible students have direct access to official GED exams in a secure and supportive environment, removing barriers to completion while building confidence and academic readiness.
This program is an integral part of LTI’s broader educational services offered at the detention center, and is tailored specifically for youth who are unlikely to return to their traditional homeschool settings. Under the guidance of certified instructors, participants engage in focused academic instruction aligned with GED content areas—Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts. Beyond academics, students receive individualized support and motivation to help them see the GED as a stepping stone to future success in higher education, vocational training, or employment.
